Our Client is recruiting an experienced Support Manager based in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

The Company is a large provider of care for adults with learning disabilities in residential settings and in the community. They strive to enable people with learning disabilities to pursue fulfilling lives.

They are seeking an experienced individual to oversee two of their Registered Care Services in Portsmouth within walking distance of each other. The services support 6 people with profound and multiple Learning disabilities, who may also have additional health needs, experience sensory loss or have physical disabilities and you will be responsible for managing and motivating team members to deliver quality services in accordance with legislation, regulatory standards and ensure the needs and aspirations of people supported are being met and that this can be evidenced.

You will have relevant social care experience and proven ability to improve the quality of Services, promote independence and achieve outcomes. They are moving towards the Deregistration of these services and are looking for the right candidate with experience of supporting services through this transition and empowering both the people they support and their staff to promote a Supported Living ethos, empowering, encouraging and leading to the people they support to live the lives they want.

As a Support Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting your team to improve the quality of services, promote independence and achieve positive outcomes. As a genuine ambassador and role model for the organisation, you will bring their values to life and share their passion and commitment to always strive to find creative ways to enrich the lives of those they support.

There is a comprehensive Management Development Programme - LEAD (Lead, Engage, Aspire & Develop) will strengthen all of the skills you need to excel within your role and positively influence your team.

You?ll work positively and inclusively with others, building constructive relationships with the local authority, families, staff and the wider community and seek opportunities to promote personalised support to the people supported.

You will be an experienced manager (or have held a previous managerial or supervisory role) within the social care sector. Highly organised and self-driven you will be able to work flexibly and hold the full UK driving licence as you may need to provide on-call support and assistance when required.

Underpinning all of the above will be your knowledge of the sector and your values. You?ll have completed, or be willing to work towards a Health and Social Care Diploma, Level 5 qualification.

Successful candidates will also be required to demonstrate, through practice, how they will ensure that their values are upheld and how the staff teams are providing consistent and excellent support in line with these and how their values and practices can influence staff to be the best, by providing the best support to the people in the services.

You will be responsible for direct line managing a team leader and a team of support workers, by providing regular supervisions, appraisals and inductions, you will also be required to complete quality and compliance within the services, which will include regular financial audits, updating the people supported plans, risk assessments and completing person centred plans. The ability to plan and prioritise your workload is essential.

They are looking for candidates who can work flexibly to meet the needs of the services and participate in the On-Call rota.
